Wilmington News Journal, the following Death Notice appeared:

Shelly Jeff Gunnells, 63, of Purcellville, Va. formerly of Wilmington, died Tuesday (May 1, 2001at Loudoun Hospital Center.
Services were held 10 AM Thursday at St. Francis Desales Catholic Church,with burial in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Va.

All I know about his health is that a year or so ago he had a kidney removed, but I don't know the reason. He attended all the breakfasts for the past seven years except for the time he had the kidney removed.
